Jun 09, 2023

On Sunday, August 13, Dewey’s Pizza will host their annual “Run to Raise Dough” 5K, benefiting Cincinnati Children’s Medical Hospital and 1N5. Runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged to participate. The race will start and end at the Dewey’s Pizza in Oakley. Runners and the community at large can enjoy an after-party at Geier Esplanade immediately following the race, including Dewey’s beloved pepperoni, cheese, and breakfast pizzas. The after party will also include a variety of family-friendly activities. In 2023, Dewey’s Pizza hopes to raise $50,000 for mental health, benefiting Cincinnati Children’s and 1N5. Funds raised will help prevent suicide by erasing the stigma around mental health and promoting optimal wellness.

Dewey’s Run to Raise Dough 5K race will start at 9:00 AM with an after-party until noon in the Geier Esplanade located in front of the Dewey’s Oakley location at 3014 Madison Road. 1N5 and Cincinnati Children’s Adapt for Life will also be onsite to celebrate and share more about their mission of mental health. The family-friendly party will feature face painting by Boundless Beauty, DJs from Q102, The Social Collective LLC, HOIST, Orangetheory Rookwood, Scarlet Begonia’s flower truck, and brews from Braxton Brewing Company. Plus, Dewey’s Pizza will have their exclusive breakfast pizza only available at the Run to Raise Dough 5K.

“Dewey’s has been fortunate enough to serve our community for 25 years. Events like these are what connects us,” shares Chuck Lipp, President at Dewey’s Pizza. “Our team is particularly passionate and honored to raise money for mental wellness throughout our community.” To date, Dewey’s Pizza has raised $126,000 for local nonprofits with their Run to Raise Dough 5K.

"Since 2010, we have worked to break the stigma of mental health through education and wellness training. Partnering with organizations like Dewey’s Pizza and Cincinnati Children’s Adapt for Life program allows us to continue our mission," adds Nancy Eigel-Miller, Founder and Executive Director of 1N5. “We are thankful the team at Dewey’s has chosen Cincinnati Children’s and 1N5 as the benefactor of this year’s race.”
